In 2014, Vanessa retired handing the business over to her former right hand and General Manager, Emma Davidson. No longer actively head hunting, other than consulting for the Denza team time to time, Vanessa now runs her own company. VMPD Consulting introduces established designers and their brands to retailers for collaboration, introducing individuals for company acquisition, internal HR advice and creative team structuring.
Vanessa has worked within the fashion industry for more than three decades. In the 1960’s she helped launch the careers of many British Designers, including Mary Quant, Ossie Clarke and Jean Muir, and in 1971 Vanessa set up her own International Buying Office and Consultancy.
In 1989 she co-founded Graduate Fashion Week with Jeff Banks and John Walford, a charity which brings together the cream of British Fashion design talent, attracting some 33,000 visitors to the event each year.
Vanessa Denza was appointed a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 2004 for her outstanding contribution to the British Fashion Industry for the past 30 years.
